In-Person Baby Beats Workshop

Photo: Playing together

Fun, in-person workshops for you and your deaf baby or toddler to enjoy together

Our in-person workshops are ideal for deaf children to enjoy together with their families.

BabyBeats™ is an early years programme from Advanced Bionics. It helps guide parents and carers through fun musical activities to inspire their children’s growing brains. It can help with listening and language skills, pre-reading skills, bonding and social skills.

This interactive workshop is for families with deaf children aged 0 to 5. It’s a fun, hands-on session with demonstrations of how to use the app, and activities you can try at home. Let’s get musical!

Meet your hosts

Our team will also be on hand to chat to, so why not join us for some refreshments after the session with other families.

Nicole da Rocha, Speech Therapist and Clinical Audiologist

My name is Nicole da Rocha I am a Speech Therapist as well as a Clinical Audiologist.

My training and experience have been focused in early intervention and my therapeutic approach is transdisciplinary, child lead with family centred care. I have over 15 years of clinical experience with further qualifications in multilingual speech acquisition, AAC (augmentative alternative communication), AVT (auditory verbal therapy) and am also Hanen certified.

I currently work for Advanced Bionics, a cochlear implant manufacturer, as the rehabilitation and customer specialist. I support families and professionals with the process of receiving cochlear implants and getting the brain acclimatised to sound.

My heart passion is for communication, I hold the belief that communication is what makes us human. It is a privilege to work with the Deaf and hard of hearing community, and to work in this field to provide solutions for communication.

Suzanne Harrigan, Speech and Language Therapist

My name is Suzanne Harrigan & I am a specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 30 years of experience working in both Health Services and charities. I have worked with children with hearing loss since the early 1990s, and really enjoy supporting families with deaf babies and toddlers to communicate effectively, whilst having fun as a family.
I now work in independent practice, with children with a wide range of complex communication needs, including hearing loss. I am also a rehabilitation consultant for Advanced Bionics
I pride myself on my ability to convey complex messages about communicating with children in ways that everyone can understand.
