About these webinars
Feel inspired, informed and confident about getting a job you love
Feeling unsure about your future career? Come to our careers webinars and find out how deafness isn’t a barrier to getting a job you’d love.
Each month we’ll focus on a different profession, inviting inspirational deaf role models to share their experiences.
You’ll leave feeling inspired, informed and confident about taking your next steps. You may even discover a career you didn’t know existed!
Topics our deaf role models will cover include:
- what job they do
- how they got started
- challenges they’ve faced as a deaf person at work
- support they’ve received that has helped them to reach their potential
- their career highlights and future goals.
Who these live webinars are for
Deaf young people aged 18 to 25. You may be starting to plan your career or have a job already.
Recordings will also be available on our website (and the Buzz website) after each session. Any deaf young person aged 13 to 25 years can watch these on demand.
When and where
- the last Wednesday of each month
- 5.00pm to 6.15pm
- on Zoom.
What you’ll need to take part
A computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection. We recommend using something with a bigger screen if you’ll be accessing communication support, so you can see the interpreters and captions clearly.
Once you’ve signed up, we’ll confirm your place and send you all the information you need. Only people who have registered will be able to attend.
Your camera will be turned off during the workshops. However, you’ll be able to join in through a (moderated) chat box to:
- share your experiences
- ask our role models questions that they’ll answer at the end
- get support from our team.
We’ll have spoken English, live captions and British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters at these webinars. If you have questions or would like to find out more, send us an email at [email protected].
