Deaf Awareness for Early Years Practitioners

Do you want to feel confident in supporting children with a hearing loss in your early years setting?

Deaf children can do anything other children can do, given the right support from the start. Effective language and communication skills lie at the heart of their social, emotional and intellectual development.

Training overview

This online CPD accredited training has been designed to help you feel confident in supporting children with hearing loss, in your setting.

During this training you will learn what deafness is and some of its causes. You will also be able to describe best practices when communicating with children with a hearing loss.

You’ll leave able to use some basic signs and describe ways to use books and rhymes to support children with a hearing loss

This training is made up of 2 modules:

1x e-learning module
1x live webinar

You will need to complete both modules to complete the training.
